Don: Our theme this year at Completion global is “Allies and Advocates” and we're here with one of our favorite allies, Jared Keith, who's the founder of Testimony Ministries. He's going to tell you about an opportunity that the three of us have to give a workshop at this year's national summit of the Correctional Ministries and Chaplains Association (CMCA) in New Orleans in May. And so first of all Jared tell us about your work at Testimony Ministries.
Jarret: God has been using Testimony Ministries to grow a fellowship of over 200 believers across California, with several local church partners and Christian leaders from all over the state. All of our ministry opportunities are created by and for believers coming home from incarceration. We have weekly Bible studies, weekly support gatherings, various community events on a quarterly basis. We partner with residential reentry programs to create good living environments.
And have created a stipend ministry internship program where people get placed with local churches to receive life skills, training, career readiness and ministry experience so they can keep Christ at the center of their reentry and prioritize pursuing the call of God in their lives.
Cathy: Jarrett, tell our friends about the reunion coming up in April.
Jarret: The Testimony Reunion is a celebration. There has never been a time in the history of California, maybe anywhere in the US where a whole community of believers have been released back into society. During this event there will be believers who are fellowshipping for the first time ever outside of the prison walls. Some haven't seen each other in years.
Don: So Jarrett the work that you're doing. It's a dream come true for us. What you're doing is unique in the field of correctional ministries, so when we do this workshop, it's going to inspire other people to do something similar to what you've started.
